A Thick Lace Bordered

If you work this braid alone, without the exchanging move, you'll have "A lace bastonne" [t6], which is a color variation of "A lace common round" [t3].

Curiously, Tollemache repeats this braid later in the text, as "A lace bordered of 2 fellows" [t59]. The results are the same, and the source text is included below for comparison.

The two sides of the braid are different, but both are interesting.

Seat a partner on your right side.

Take ten departed loops, and place them on the following fingers:
Outer hands: A B C - one color up
Inner hands: B C - the other color up

Work with the inner hands:
A goes through B C inner, and takes the loop on C outer reversed.
Lower the outer loops.

Work with the outer hands:
A goes through B C outer, and takes the loop on C inner reversed.
Lower the inner loops.

Exchange loops on your inner hands:
Your A goes through B from within outward, and takes your partner's B unreversed.
Partner's A takes your B unreversed.
Lower A to B.

Repeat from the beginning.
