A Lace Uliet Vine

This is a round version of "a lace uliet boss (cross)" [s56]. The round variation of "a lace penne de pound" [s46] is very similar, differing only in the colors, and the number of repeats.

The direction that the loops are given the half-twist determines which side of the braid faces upward during the braiding. For the sake of consistency, all my directions will form a braid with the more attractive side facing down, allowing the outer edges to be easily connected above the braid.

Seat a partner on your right side.

Take sixteen loops in three colors, and place them on the following fingers:
Color 1 (white): A B of both outer hands.
Color 2 (black): C D of both outer hands, and AB of both inner hands.
Color 3 (yellow): C D of both inner hands.

Work with the inner hands:
A goes through B C D inner, and D C B outer, and takes the loop on A outer unreversed.
(You'll have two loops on A temporarily.)
High the outer loops.
Move the loop from D inner onto D outer unreversed.
Low the inner loops.
(Hook B in the back A loop and pull it over and around the front A loop and onto B.)

Exchange loops on your inner hands:
(No explanation is given for how to do this. You and your partner need to exchange A loops, with his passing through yours unreversed. Try using your outer hand to pull his loop through yours, giving your inner loop to him, and then transfering his loop from your outer hand to your inner hand.)

Exchange loops on your outer hands:
Put your A loop over and behind your partner's B loop, taking his B unreversed.

Twist all your loops, giving a 180° turn to each loop:
Outer hands - Twist the bottom of each loop upward.
Inner hands - Twist the top of each loop downward.
(Counter-clockwise for you, Clockwise for your partner.)

Continue working with the inner hands until the yellow loops are on A B of the outer hands.
(A total of four times.)

Repeat from the beginning.

A Lace uliet vine.
Take sixteen bows of such color as in the Lace boss [s56], and in the self manner set upon your hands, and then work in the self manner as in the Lace boss, save you shall change your over bows of your further hands.
